THE MCKITTRICK HOTEL

CREATIVE DIRECTOR + WRITER

SLEEP NO MORE

The McKittirck Hotel had enjoyed a decade of popularity as the hottest immersive theater in New York. Then COVID happened, and as the theaters reopened, TMH found themselves needing to advertise for the first time.

Having previously only employed word-of-mouth, press, and minor PR stunts for show promotion, I was contracted to creative direct a tasteful brand refresh that could honor the theater’s legacy while discovering new ways to sell tickets through digital campaigns across channels.

HYPNOTIQUE

Following the reopening of their hit Sleep No More, the McKittrick Hotel had a new show in mind for the after-hours crowd. It was to be adult, risque, artsy, feminist, and, well, naked. I was tasked to create a brand voice, messaging matrix, and name for the trippy immersion into a psychedelic burlesque that would ultimately become known as Hynotique.

SPEAKEASY MAGICK

But the fun wouldn’t stop with Hynotique. Fans of the cryptic and exclusive, the McKittrick’s next project was a laundromat. Well, it at least looked like one, but if you said the secret word, you would be allowed to walk through the hanging dry cleaning and through the back door, where a secret speakeasy hosted nightly table magic with a modern edge. I assisted the team with branding, voice, and the soft launch of what would later become a huge hit.
